Childviolence.com  was created in 2001 by John A. Ferrante.

In 1993 while recovering from a case of food poisoning John contracted on an airline trip, John watched a documentary on the affects of child sexual abuse.  So taken by the horrors and breadth of the problem in the U.S., he utilized his research and curriculum development skills as a college professor and his experience as a Law Enforcement Officer to develop a seminar for parents.

Beginning with a single seminar for parents at a local school, he began his mission.  From this one seminar, calls began to come in and the seminars have grown to include all aspects of child violence and child safety. The website was created to supplement John's seminars and workshops. 

Today, John travels the country training Detectives at Federal, State and Local levels on Child Sexual Abuse investigation.

The purpose of this site was originally to provide seminar participants with access to additional information about the seminar topics, handouts, and sources of additional information. John has since expanded the site to include as much information on child violence topics as possible for everyone. The site is also used to offer seminars and workshops to the public.

The seminars and workshops are for parents groups, teachers, school administrators, police and sheriff's departments as well as church organizations, Camp staffs and Coaching staffs.

John also offers workshops for children on all aspects of safety and personal security.  These training classes are ideal for summer camps, scouting and sports teams.

 Who is John A. Ferrante

John Ferrante  a former businessman and adjunct college professor,  is a recognized expert in Child Violence. He educates law enforcement officers, teachers,  school administrators and parents groups on all aspects of child protection.  John speaks across the country on Child Violence, Child Safety and Child Sexual Abuse  and has been quoted in many parenting & school publications. 
 
  

He has both military and commercial aviation experience and is an expert on the topic of traveling with small children. 

John has  law enforcement experience as an officer and investigator and works today, with kids, teachers and parents to enhance child safety.

He holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in several disciplines including Engineering, Business and Legal studies.

John and his wife  live in a suburb of Memphis, Tennessee with  their children.
